Sonja

Sonja has been teaching piano to my daughter for the last few years. She is skilled, patient and nurturing and my daughter has made very good progress with her. I highly recommend Sonja as a piano teacher. Kathleen

Sonja is just the sort of piano teacher we wanted for our (then) eight year old girl. She is 100% professional, she knows exactly what is needed at any point and she goes to great pains to provide the pupil with notes of everything that needs to be practised. She is training Grace for Grade 4 currently but that is, of course, just a step in the process. Charles

Sonja is brilliant. In a short space of time she has got my three kids (age 7, 10, 12) playing interesting pieces and reading music and understanding beats. She works to their pace and they really enjoy their lessons. She’s also trustworthy and reliable and I feel lucky to have found her. Cat

Sonja is throughly professional and explains everything as many times as it’s necessary. She has a complete understanding of her craft, she also has the patience of a saint. I look forward to my lessons and can’t recommend her highly enough. Marjorie

Hanna

My son has loved learning piano with Hanna and has made great progress this term. She is fun, firm and encouraging and my son really looks forward to his lessons. Mary

Kate

We have been really happy with Ekaterina as a piano teach for our daughter. She is bright and enthusiastic and has given clear feedback to both our daughter and to us as parents. Would definitely recommend her as a teacher. Vicki

Ileana

I am so pleased to have found Ileana! She is a great fit for my daughter’s particular learning needs and style. She has taken the time to get to know her and adapt her teaching style to suit. My daughter is growing in confidence with the piano and improving her sight reading, which she has to date found challenging. Ileana is warm and patient: a good combination in a children’s piano teacher! Wendy

Beautiful, gentle, encouraging, playful and filled with new creative ways to fall in love with playing the piano. Perfect for my 7 year old. Vanya

Very kind and patient. Tailored teaching materials for my child’s interests. Perfect teacher. Ying

Anna

Anna is a punctual, engaging and patient teacher and is great in teaching young children. She has an individual approach to each of my kids and a great ability to encourage and motivate them to excellency. It has been great to see my kids progress in playing the piano, and developing a real interest and passion for it under Anna’s guidance. Trung

She’s very kind, patience and great piano teacher for my daughter. Very satisfied with her tutorial. Edith

Anna is patient with my two girls, dedicated to their teaching, reliable and flexible with their changing learning needs. She’s particularly good with teaching musical skills such as theory, rhythm, aural training, sight reading etc. We are very pleased to have her. Maggie

Rupert

Rupert has been teaching my son piano since grade 3, and they are currently working towards his grade 7. He is very friendly, and calm, and thorough. My son really enjoys his lessons, and I would be happy to recommend him to anyone. Caroline

Mark

I am in my sixties and have started to play the piano again – after an absence of about fifty years!  I have thoroughly enjoyed my lessons – first with Daisy Dicker and subsequently with Mark Seow – they have encouraged me, stretched me and laughed with me as I have battled my demons and enjoyed my successes for the last seven years. When lockdown came I was really depressed at the idea that this would all have to come to an end – but I have been successfully having remote lessons with Mark since February 2020. All I needed to do was buy a very inexpensive stand for my mobile phone and we were off! I can genuinely say I am progressing just as well as before and would encourage anyone to try it – as it is definitely more than just worthwhile. I suspect even when we can get together again I will still opt for some remote sessions. Vikki H

I have loved having Mark as a teacher and he has really helped me to re focus on technique and given me another dimension for my playing. Lana

Mark has been teaching me since February this year.  I have been doing the following pieces: Chopin Nocturne in E flat major, Schubert Impromptu in G flat major, Chopin Posthumous Nocturne in C sharp minor and a variety of Irish pieces put together by Phil Coulter.  I have just started the Harmonious Blacksmith by Handel. I enjoy Mark’s method of teaching.  He understands that I have problems with rhythm and also left hand accompaniment. He encourages practising Hannon exercises and various chord formations to help me.  He talks about phrasing and playing Chopin with a bit of improvisation.  With regard to the Handel piece he has great experience in playing Baroque music so gives great advice about how different one needs to play this in comparison to the Chopin pieces.  He does not stay long on any one piece – he says that I should develop my repertoire rather than learning a piece to perfection.  I agree with this approach.   He is meticulous about timekeeping and responds very quickly to any texts or e-mails.  I would have no hesitation in recommending him as a great and inspiring teacher. Simon

Simon is an incredible teacher. Not only has Bruno’s piano skills launched into an area that has exceeded my expectations, Simons passion and enthusiasm for music has really rubbed off on Bruno. It makes my life a little more colourful when we listen to Chopin and Bruno’s critical thinking about performance just staggers me! He is crossing the line between being a student to being an actual musician and this is now likely to make up a large part of his worldview. He has taken these home baked skills and is also excelling in his other studies, applying these new studying habits into GCSE’s. Cecilia

Simon is approachable and thorough. He pitches the lessons well for my children’s ages and abilities. He is flexible in his approach to teaching, depending on progress and how my children Learn best. I would absolutely recommend Simon as a piano teacher Octavia

Simon has taught my daughter for several years and we are both very happy. He is friendly, funny, and flexible, as well as punctual and communicative, and the teaching must be going OK because she’s passing the grades! Louise

Raphaelle

Raphaelle is a very good and patient teacher and is obviously very passionate about the piano and helping others get better (something that she is certainly doing with me). I always look forward to our lessons and think any adult or child would be lucky to have her as a teacher. I have been learning piano on and off for 30 years and am so happy to have found her.

She is clear and easy to understand and works hard to make sure that I not only have good technique but that I also enjoy the music. She is always on time, has a strong work ethic and I feel that I learn a lot during our lessons. She is also a very talented pianist and is very observant when it comes to hearing or seeing things that I need to improve and showing me how to fix them. Sartika

Maria

We’re very happy with Maria’s teaching. She’s passionate about piano and about teaching. I feel Millie has been able to progress in her foundational skills rather than just learning new pieces. Maria has done well engaging Millie. Maggie

Liam

We love Liam. Katie has flourished and expanded her range with his guidance. Peter

Liam is absolutely fab. I’ve learnt so much interesting musical theory from him as well as Jazz standards. I find his laid back style really easy to work with. Katie

Vivian

Vivian has always been really calm and encouraging which makes her really easy to learn from. She has really helped with my grade pieces and some of the other pieces that I feel passionate about. Tara

Fletcher thoroughly enjoys his lessons with Vivian. She’s very encouraging and goes at a pace that suits him rather than pushing him. Fletcher has improved in his sight reading and chords and is currently working towards his Grade 2 exam.  Vivian has always been punctual and is greatly flexible. We have used MH teachers for over three years now and would not hesitate in recommending them. Jeanne

Vivian has been teaching our two boys for a year and the lessons are going really well. Vivian is a friendly, encouraging and enthusiastic teacher and both boys (age 6 and 8) get on very well with her. The lessons are fun, varied and well pitched to each individual character with lots of different activities including a variety of pieces, improvisation, writing music, sight reading and scales. Vivian is always punctual and professional and we look forward to her lessons every week. Beth

Vivian from Muswell Hill Piano Teachers has been a wonderful teacher to both my 12yr old daughter and 8yr old son.  She has managed to guide and encourage both of them in different ways, helping my daughter through her ABRSM grades and running with my son’s love of Doctor Who soundtracks and Michael Jackson songs to inspire him so that he has become a very enthusiastic pianist!  She is always patient, reliable and professional and I cannot recommend her highly enough.
